I’m really interested in artifacts and how they can tell stories. So the idea behind this was to create images that served as artifacts of a fake lost civilization, including creating a new alphabet. However, I also wanted to acknowledge the fact that these were digitally created images, so I created the artifacts using voxels so that they inherently had that computer-generated feel both in how they look and how they have worn over the millennia that has supposedly passed by since their creation.
The idea was that there was a completely forgotten civilization, called the Symmerians. They existed about 10,000 BC and had technology even greater than our own. The most important existing relic from the Symmerians is an artifact, referred to as The Stone. It is essentially a Rosetta Stone connecting our world to their’s. However, The Stone itself appears to be only a few decades old, while everything is was discovered with is about 12,000 years old. This unexplained mystery tells modern archaeologists that the Symmerians may still be here.

Made up of dozens of poems and letters that I had written for her over the three years we were together, as well as three paintings that I made in the time after we broke up, the piece was meant to encapsulate all of my feelings, both good and bad, so that I could finally move on.
